The Furry Convention Leadership Roundtable, or FCLR, is a private organization started in 2010 by Takaza J. Wolf and Duncan da Husky to make running conventions for furries a little easier for everybody. FCLR is the closest analog that the furry convention organizing community has to a professional trade association. We do not currently take dues, and there is no published material beyond the interaction of convention leadership.
Inside FCLR the designated representatives of each member convention discuss issues, share tips, and provide each other insights year-round through a mailing list and active Telegram channel. Membership in FCLR is voluntary. We have no central power, and we do not create rules which every member convention is expected to enforce. We are a consensus-based group designed to advise each other, provide support, and share creative solutions. FCLR is administered by Duncan da Husky, who serves as a discussion facilitator and handles organizational logistics.
FCLR consists of two parts: an active Telegram chat, and meetings either at conventions or as standalone events. The meetings can range from simple meet and greets over a meal to multiple days spent in roundtable discussions about specific topics. FCLR also sponsors a Mentoring chat on Telegram that is open to any and all convention staff members whether they or their event is a member of FCLR or not.
